Registrations for Jean Monnet Summer Academy “European Union Enlargement: Past Lessons for Future Decisions” is completed.

A total of 358 applications were received, reflecting the importance and relevance of this topic.

Demographics and Geographical Spread: The majority of applicants—92%—are Georgian nationals, with the remaining 7% comprising Ukrainian, Russian, Azerbaijani, Armenian, and Jewish participants. 95% of them are citizens of Georgia, while others are residents.

Applicants hail from across Georgia, demonstrating the widespread interest in EU-related topics across the country, and among different nationalities.

Age and Educational Background: Participants are categorized by age as follows:

  • 16-18 years: 52%
  • 18-22 years: 30%
  • 22-25 years: 6%
  • 25+ years: 12%

These participants include high school students, BA, MA, and PhD students, as well as recent graduates not currently enrolled in any educational program.

Knowledge Levels: Participants self-assessed their prior knowledge of the European Union as follows:

  • 66% rated their knowledge as “good.”
  • 17% rated it as “poor.”
  • 17% rated it as “excellent.”

 This distribution highlights a strong foundational understanding among the majority of participants.

The Jean Monnet Summer Academy will begin on August 22 and will continue with daily lectures through August 26. Lectures will be conducted by Georgian and European experts in an online format

The Concluding Ceremony will take place on September 5 at European University and will feature speeches, presentations, and a panel discussion. At the end of the event, all participants will be awarded a certificate
