Mobility

The mobility process occurs twice a year, in the fall and spring semesters, and can be undertaken within a single level of higher education. Graduate medical/dental, teacher training integrated bachelor-master, and veterinary integrated master programs are considered first-level academic higher education programs. Mobility from a vocational education program to a bachelor's program is not allowed.

How to apply for external mobility?

A student has the right to mobility after completing one year of study at the corresponding level of higher education. The period of study does not include any time during which the student's status was suspended. A student whose status has been suspended, as well as a person whose status has been terminated, can use external mobility within one year after the status has been terminated.

Students enrolled at the first level of higher education based on the results of the unified national exams of 2020 and beyond have the right to mobility only to programs that correspond to the mandatory subjects they passed in the unified national exams. This is controlled by the electronic portal during the mobility process.

In order to obtain the right to mobility, the student must go through the following stages:

  • Register on the mobility portal at https://students.emis.ge/.
  • Choose the desired program(s) at European University.
  • Pay the mobility fee (40 GEL) at any Bank of Georgia service center before the registration period expires on the electronic student portal.
  • Check the mobility results on the personal registration page on the electronic portal.
  • Apply in writing to European University within the terms set by the rector's order and submit copies of personal files if the electronic portal indicates the right to mobility (positive answer). Students must not be prevented from receiving copies of their personal files.
  • Review the information about the credits recognized by European University and confirm consent or refusal with a written statement.
  • A student is considered enrolled through mobility from the day European University issues the enrollment order.
  • If a student decides to refuse enrollment through mobility, they must apply in writing to European University before the mobility enrollment order is issued.

How to apply for internal mobility?

A student at European University has the right to change their educational program during their study period through internal mobility.

Internal mobility refers to a student's change of educational program within the university. The internal mobility process is conducted twice a year by the university based on the rector's order.

Students are eligible to participate in internal mobility after completing one semester of study. Even if a student's status has been suspended at the time of the internal mobility announcement, they still have the right to participate.

Internal mobility is limited to changes within the same level of higher education. Graduate medical, dental, and veterinarian programs are considered compatible with the first level of academic higher education.

Students who entered the first level of higher education based on the results of the unified national exams of 2020 and beyond have the right to internal mobility only to programs corresponding to the mandatory subjects they passed in the exams, as controlled by the university.

The university may announce extraordinary internal mobility in case of program refusal, accreditation cancellation, or program cancellation.

Applications for internal mobility are accepted within the specified time limits set by the rector's order. A commission established by the rector determines the compatibility of the learning results achieved by the student wishing to transfer to another educational program and decides on the recognition of relevant credits. The transfer of a student through internal mobility is formalized by the rector's order.
