Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at European University launched the integrated master's education program in veterinary medicine for the 2022-2023 academic year. The program spans five years and encompasses both educational and scientific research components. Significant emphasis is placed on the development of transferable skills. English language courses in the program cater to students of all proficiency levels and conclude with a focus on sector-specific English.
The OSPE (Objectively Structured Practical Examination) and OSCE (Objectively Structured Clinical Examination) assessment methods have been introduced to evaluate students' practical and clinical competencies in both preclinical and clinical training courses.
To attain the learning outcomes set by the program, heightened focus is given to the essential components of clinical and industrial practice. Clinical practice is undertaken in the eighth semester, aimed at enhancing clinical skills based on knowledge from core specialty courses. Production practice, carried out in the tenth semester, equips students with practical skills in the veterinary field such as analysis, information processing, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. It also fosters traits like purposefulness, promptness, initiative, teamwork, leadership, and effective communication with animal owners and peers.
The practical aspects of the program will be facilitated by institutions with which the European University has established cooperation agreements.
The program dedicates significant importance to its scientific component, cultivating students' abilities in selecting research topics/questions, choosing appropriate research methodologies, planning, managing, conducting research, analyzing findings, and drawing conclusions. These skills are pivotal for conducting scientific research and producing valuable academic papers.
Upon completion of the integrated master's education program in veterinary medicine, graduates are conferred with the academic title of "Master of Veterinary Medicine". They can then pursue further studies at the doctoral level. It's pertinent to note that veterinary medicine is a profession governed by state regulations.
