About Museum

The Historical-Archaeological Museum of the European University was established on October 22, 2017, as a repository for university antiquities, serving scientific research, educational, and publishing purposes.

Situated on the fifth floor of the European University administrative building at Guramishvili N76, the museum's exhibition hall is designed to accommodate 32-34 students or visitors.

The museum's exhibition is divided into two main parts:

  • History of the European University.
  • Collections of archaeological antiquities.

The primary focus of the museum's scientific and research endeavours includes:

  • Organization of new collections to enhance educational and research opportunities.
  • Accounting, protection, classification, and systematization of collections.
  • Research on the museum's collections.
  • Publication and promotion of collections or individual artefacts housed in the museum.

The exhibits within the Foundation of the Historical-Archaeological Museum of the European University encompass not only artifacts from the permanent archaeological exposition of the Institute of Archaeology named after Academician Andria Afakidze of the European University but also materials acquired through purchases or donations by the University. These include sculpture, numismatics, exhibits made of precious metals or gems, ceramics, memorial items, written materials, photographs, and more.

The museum is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00 to 17:00.
