Financed Research Projects
In the 2022-23 academic year, the "European University" project won the competition "On Publishing State Scientific Grants" announced by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia. Within the framework of the project, the head of the "European University" psychology undergraduate program, affiliated assistant professor Baia Kublashvili, and affiliated assistant professor Tamar Maglagelidze published the book "Teaching at the Level of Higher Education."

On November 28, 2020, an online workshop on "Writing Research Grant Projects" was held for academic and visiting staff and research staff. The workshop was led by Professor Ketevan Gurchiani of Ilia State University. At the workshop, academic and invited staff learned about the specifics of filling out a research grant application and basic issues related to the preparation of a grant research project, such as: the selection of a research topic, the purpose of research, the general structure of a research project application, academic ethics, and international cooperation.
From December 2-12, 2020, a series of online workshops on the topic "Research at the University" was held for the academic and guest staff and research staff of the European University. The training was led by New Vision University professor Vladimir Luarsabishvili. The workshop aimed to develop research skills and strengthen existing ones for the academic staff of different fields. Participants of the workshop got acquainted with the main methods of modern academic research.
At the end of the 2019-2020 academic year, the scientific-research center carried out an assessment of the scientific-research potential of the academic and visiting personnel, based on which the research interests and directions of the academic and visiting personnel were identified. Taking into account the identified interests and directions, a database of research grant programs and individual research grants was created, and information about them is systematically provided to academic and invited staff.
In the 2019-2020 academic year, the European University participated in the fundamental research competition announced by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia with the following projects:
- Gini and Tail indices and modeling the economic structure of the Georgian population using Pareto and lognormal distributions (registration code: FR-19-16766)
- Decriminalization of Drug Crime in Georgia, Comparative Analysis and Case Law (Registration Code FR-19-029)
In the same academic year, the project "International law on the principle of prohibition of the use of force or the threat of use of force: theory and practice on the example of Georgia" (registration code YS-19-502) was entered into the competition for financing with the research grant of young scientists.
On April 19, 2019, Scientific Research Support Center was officially opened at the European University.
On April 19, 2019, a memorandum was signed between the European University and the Ivane Beritashvili Center for Experimental Biomedicine. The parties agreed to cooperate in the field of biomedicine and conduct joint research in these areas.
The document "Procedures and Mechanisms for Plagiarism Detection, Prevention, and Response to Plagiarism Cases" was introduced to a wide circle at the European University. The purpose of this document is to contribute to raising the level of internal responsibility for the effective implementation of scientific and academic activities at the university, to establish norms of behavior for the introduction of high academic standards, and to establish forms of responsibility. As part of this initiative, a Plagiarism Week and a student competition were organized.
On May 3, 2019, Zviad Gabisonia, the General Director of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, visited the European University. The purpose of the meeting was to acquaint himself with the current situation, challenges, and future prospects in the field of science within the framework of education and science reform.
During the meeting, the Director of the Foundation presented the planned changes in the direction of science, discussed new important international projects, initiatives, and plans of the Rustaveli Foundation to be implemented that year. The audience was also informed about the 2019 competition for state scientific grants for applied research.
As a result of cooperation with the Shota Rustaveli Scientific Foundation, the European University was given the opportunity to access the following databases of Elsevier, the world's leading scientific database:

On May 23, 2019, Professor Tsisana Giorgadze and Lolita Shengelia, Head of the Center for the Promotion of Scientific and Research Activities, conducted a master class in English on the topic "How to Prepare a Scientific Paper" for students participating in the conference of the Faculty of Medicine.
On May 28, 2019, Professor Tatuli Dolidze conducted a master class on the same topic for students of the Faculty of Law, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the European University.
On June 1, the 5th annual student scientific conference of the Faculty of Law, Humanities, and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Business and Technology was held at the European University.
On June 3, 2019, the 6th annual student scientific conference of the Faculty of Medicine was held at the European University.
On June 15, 2019, the European University, in the hotel complex in Bazaleti, held the fifth international student scientific conference. Any undergraduate or graduate student from both local and international universities could participate in the conference.
On June 21, 2019, the European University Faculty of Medicine announced a one-year research grant project competition for affiliated academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine.
On June 28, 2019, a competition was announced to select the editor-in-chief and three editors of the Medical Student magazine, and a relevant commission was created by order of the rector.
On July 9, 2019, the results of the first stage of the competition for the selection of the editor-in-chief and three editors were announced. The following students passed to the second stage:
