Scholarship and Financial Support

Scholarship and Financial Support

At European University, there is a scholarship awarding rule and an individual payment schedule policy. This allows students to receive a scholarship based on high academic performance and create a customized payment schedule.

Additionally, special preferential mechanisms are in place for students belonging to various vulnerable groups. European University also supports students displaced from the occupied territories of Georgia and family members of military servicemen, providing benefits as outlined in signed memorandums.

How is the scholarship awarded?

At European University, a scholarship is awarded to students with high academic performance. The scholarship is based on the academic results of the previous semester, which are determined by calculating the credit-weighted average score of assessments received by the student in each course during the semester. To qualify for the scholarship, a student must have received at least an A grade (91-100 points) in all study courses, including the final exam, without the need for additional exams.

According to the faculties, how many students receive the scholarship?

Within the Faculty of Medicine, funding will be provided for the top 13 students. For the Faculty of Law, Humanities and Social sciences, funding will be provided for 4 students. For the Faculty of Bussiness and Technology 4 students.  Within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, funding will be provided for 2 students. For the Faculty of Dentistry funding will be provided for 7 students.

How much is the scholarship?

The scholarship for Georgian-language educational programs is set at 125 GEL (including income tax), and for English-language educational programs, it is set at 250 GEL (including income tax). The scholarship is issued through non-cash payment over one academic semester (a period of 5 months). If a student's status is suspended or terminated, they lose the right to receive the scholarship.

What financial support mechanisms exist at European University and who can benefit?

The European University LLC operates mechanisms to support vulnerable students. The university offers students belonging to vulnerable groups a 20% financial benefit. Each year, the university determines a quota for students who can benefit from this financial aid. The quota is calculated based on the principle that no more than 5% of the total number of students enrolled through the unified national/common master's exams can receive financial benefits as vulnerable students. If the number of vulnerable students exceeds 5% of the enrolled students, priority is given to students with the highest scores in the unified national/common matriculation exams.

Scope of Support:

  1. Financial benefits apply to the following target groups: a) Socially vulnerable individuals; b) Persons with disabilities; c) Individuals living in mountainous regions; d) Members of large families; e) Children of individuals killed in defense of territorial integrity.

  2. Students belonging to the target groups defined in the first paragraph of this article can receive financial relief provided for vulnerable groups upon presenting relevant documentation.

What is the tuition fee payment method?

The University allows students to take advantage of an individual tuition payment schedule. For example, students have the option to divide the annual tuition fee into ten parts or create an individual schedule tailored to their needs.

Who else can benefit from financial support?

The university signed a memorandum with the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia in 2015 to provide financial benefits for students. According to this memorandum, the university finances 20% of the tuition fee for students internally displaced from the occupied territories of Georgia.

In addition, in 2020, the university signed a memorandum with the Ministry of Defense of Georgia to provide financial benefits for students. Under this memorandum, the university finances 20% of the tuition fees for the family members of military servicemen.
