Tsisana Giorgadze, an affiliated professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the “European University,” has been appointed as the head of the Department of Medical Genetics and Biology.
Tsisana Giorgadze graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University in 1986 and earned a PhD degree in biological sciences at the Durmishidze Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology in 1992. From 1986 to 2006, she worked as a researcher at the I.Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry at Tbilisi State Medical University.
Tsisana Giorgadze has been teaching at various universities since 2007 and joined the European University team in 2014.
Additionally, she currently holds the position of Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the “European University” . Since 2016, she has served as the Secretary of the Faculty Council and, since 2018, as a Member/Secretary of the MD program development committee. Since 2019, she has also been a member of the University Governing Board.
Tsisana Giorgadze has actively participated in both local and international conferences and training programs. From 1997 to 2022, she was involved in grant projects with organizations such as “NATO” and the “Georgian Academy of Sciences”. One of these projects was INTAS – Georgia (PROJECT N° 97-491) – „Structure elucidation, cytotoxic and antiparasitic activities of saponins from Hedera colchica and Hedera pastuchowii and their possible application in human and veterinary medicine“.
Tsisana Giorgadze is the author of numerous scientific works and patents, including: “A Remedy for the Treatment and Prevention of Atherosclerosis.” Utility Model Patent (GE U 2011 1655Y).
