Davit Tchkonia is an affiliated Associate Professor at the European University and at the same time serves as the head of the Pulmonology Department.
He is also a phthisiologist, pulmonologist at the National Center for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases, the head of the Pulmonology Department at the David Tatishvili Medical Center, a pulmonologist at the Aversi Clinic, the head of the Interventional Pulmonology Department at the Bokhua Memorial Cardiovascular Center, and the head of the Interventional Pulmonology Department at Healthycore.
From 1978 to 1984, he studied at Tbilisi State Medical University. At the same university, he obtained the qualification of a physician in 1985 and received the PhD degree in Medicine in 2020.
Davit Chkonia is a member of the Georgian Respiratory Association, the European Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (EABIP), as well as the World Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (WABIP) and the Georgian Endoscopy Association.
Davit Chkonia actively participates in various training courses, seminars, and scientific activities as a participant, facilitator, or organizer. Some of his notable involvements include:
- Organizer of the “Endoscopy Modules” training in 2022.
- Facilitator of the Bronchoscopy Program – 2020 to 2021.
- Participant in the XXI Poliprofile Medical Conference “International Standards of Clinical Medicine” in 2020.
- Participant in the V European Congress for “Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology” in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 2019.
- Speaker in the XIII poliprofile medical conferential ”International Standards of Clinical Medicine” in 2017.
- Speaker at the II European Congress for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology in Izmir, Turkey in 2013
