Larisa Melia is an affiliate professor at the “European University,” holding a Doctor of Medicine degree. She is an obstetrician-gynecologist at Academician O. Gudushauri National Medical Centerand also serves as the head of the Gynecology Department.
Larisa Melia actively participates in various training courses and seminars as a facilitator, organizer, and participant, such as:
- “Modern approaches in the practice of emergency gynecology” at the Karl Shtorz International Training Center.
- “News of reproductive and surgical gynecology” organized by the Association of United Endoscopists of Georgia.
- “VIII International Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Perinatologists of Georgia” organized by the Ministry of Health of Georgia.
- “Issues of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis,” a project by The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.
She presented a report on “Pemphigus Vulgaris during Pregnancy” at the XXV European Congress of Perinatal Medicine in Maastricht in 2016, at the 1st World Congress on Maternal Fetal Neonatal Medicine in London titled “Complete Wolfram Syndrome and Successful Pregnancy,” and in Tbilisi at the Transcaucasian Congress on “The Use of Low-Molecular Heparin in Obstetric Practice” in 2017.
Larisa Melia’s name is associated with a number of works, research projects and articles that are published in prestigious international and Georgian scientific journals over the years.
