In preparation for the re-accreditation of the International Relations Program, 4 series of training were held for the academic and invited personnel of the program. The training was led by Dr. Gorana Misic, Professor at Bard College (Berlin, Germany), and Dr. Margaryta Rymarenko, Professor at the Central European University (Budapest, Hungary).
The series of training involved direct practical work with the lecturers, as well as independent work, as a result of which the participants had to analyze the learning-teaching and assessment methods in the syllabi of their courses and, if necessary, modify them.
The main topic of the first two meetings was “Assessment Strategies for Enhanced Student Learning”, during which the participants gained relevant theoretical knowledge to prepare for independent work. Consequently, each lecturer identified the challenges facing their curricula. The last two meetings were devoted to practical work on syllabus redesign. For the effectiveness of the meetings, the trainers examined the participants’ syllabi in advance in order to identify points of confusion, and offer some comments and relevant recommendations to participants on the most common teaching methods and challenges. The series of training was attended by 12 lecturers from European University, who were awarded bilingual certificates.
